Step-by-Step: Reset the Leaderboard
If you want to start a new game or reset the leaderboard after running a test game, navigate to Trivia Home and then do the following:
1. Click the Manage/Play button on your game
2. Under Game Manager, click the red status button to change the gameplay to a new game.
SocialPoint will automatically reset the leaderboard, mobile player app and the iPads. All game and player data will be saved.
What Happens When You Reset
• All player scores for the current session are cleared.
• The leaderboard starts fresh at zero.
• Previous gameplay data is preserved for historical reporting.
• Player mobile sessions are reset for the new gameplay instance.
Important: Reset vs Delete
Resetting the leaderboard does NOT delete your game. It only creates a new gameplay session with a fresh leaderboard. Your questions, settings, and structure remain intact.
Common Issues
The leaderboard didn’t reset:
• Make sure you clicked the red Status button.
• Confirm the game shows a new Gameplay instance.
• Refresh the leaderboard browser tab.
Players still see old scores:
• Have players refresh their browser.
• Reopen the Player Link.
• Ensure they are connected to the correct gameplay session.
I don’t see the red Status button:
• Confirm you are inside Manage/Play.
• Verify you have admin permissions.
• Ensure the game is not already set to a new gameplay.
