How do I create and manage a Photo Challenge? This article explains how to create, edit, and manage a Photo Challenge in SocialPoint

To create a Photo Challenge, go to the SocialPoint app, click Create New Challenge, select Photo Challenge, and configure your settings. Once created, you can manage submissions, adjust settings, and monitor participation from the Challenge dashboard.

How to Create a Photo Challenge

  1. Go to the Challenges Tab on the SocialPoint Dashboard.

  2. Click the Blue Add Button to Create a new Challenge.

  3. Choose "On their Device" or "Scanning a QR Code. Press the blue Let's Start Button.

Hot Tip: Save time by copying an existing challenge before setting up a new one. (see "Copying an Existing Photo Challenge").

4. Select Photo Challenge from the challenge types.

5. Configure your challenge settings, including:

  • Start and end date

  • Submission limits (if applicable)

  • Moderation settings

  • Branding options


6. Click Save or Create Challenge.



How to Manage a Photo Challenge

After creating your challenge, you can manage it from the dashboard.


To access your challenge:

  1. Go to the Challenges List.

  2. Locate your Photo Challenge by Name.

  3. Click on the name of your challenge.


From the Manage area, you can:

  • View participant submissions (we call them responses)

  • Approve or moderate photos (if moderation is enabled)

  • Edit challenge settings

  • Monitor engagement and participation


Editing an Active Photo Challenge

To update an existing challenge:

  1. Go to the Challenges List.

  2. Locate your Photo Challenge by Name.

  3. Click on the name of your challenge.

  4. Click Edit Activity.

  5. Update the desired settings (dates, limits, branding, etc.).

  6. Click Save Changes.


Managing Photo Submissions

If moderation is enabled, you will need to approve submissions before they are visible.

  1. Open your challenge.

  2. Navigate to the Responses section.

  3. Review each uploaded photo.

  4. Click Approve, Reject, or the appropriate moderation option.

Approved photos will appear in the live challenge gallery (if enabled).

Moderation Advice:
- Use Auto Approve to push all photos to your photo gallery instantly.
- Keep Auto Approve off, If you want to review photos before they are published.


Editing an Active Photo Challenge

To update an existing challenge:

  1. Go to the Challenges List.

  2. Locate your Photo Challenge by Name.

  3. Click on the name of your challenge.

  4. Click Responses.

  5. Click the New Approvals tab to:

  • Approve new player submissions

  • Send a new submission to the Archived tab

  • Edit a response



What Happens Next

  • Participants can upload photos using the challenge link.

  • Submissions appear in your dashboard in real time.

  • If moderation is enabled, photos remain hidden until approved.

  • All submissions are stored and available for viewing in a photo gallery or download.


Common Issues / Troubleshooting

I can't access the Photo Challenge option

  • Confirm your subscription includes Photo Challenges.

  • Make sure you are clicking Create New Challenge from the main dashboard.

Participants cannot upload photos

  • Check that the challenge is active.

  • Ensure submission limits have not been reached.

New Photos are not showing up in my photo gallery

  • Make sure that you have the correct photo gallery open.

  • Make sure that you have auto-approve on, so photos can be added to the gallery.

How can I download my photos

  • Navigate to your Challenge and Choose Responses

  • Click on the Download All Images Button

  • Alternatively, you can download player submissions to get a link to the image, the player and the caption that they submitted.
