Ways to connect SocialPoint in Cvent Attendee Hub

SocialPoint can connect with cvent attendee hub using data tags in the game link. You can add your SocialPoint Auto-Login or Auto-Registration link to 3 areas in Cvent Attendee Hub

Note - One common mistake when using the game auto-login or auto-registration link is using it in the wrong areas. The links containing data tags cannot be used in notifications or as an embedded link in text because those areas do not support Cvent data tags.

How to add to the Home page as a card in Cvent Attendee Hub

This is the most popular way to add SocialPoint to your Cvent Attendee Hub app. It allows you to promote the game with a graphic you create.

  • In the Cvent Attendee Hub Area click “Pages” on the left side menu

  • Then Click “Edit home page”

  • Then click “+ Add card.”

  • In the card options, select “Single link card”

  • In the “Create link” area, select External link for “Link type.” Then give the link text a name – probably your game name.

  • In the URL Area, add your SocialPoint game auto-login or auto-registration link. This link will already have the necessary data tag in it, so you do not need to use the drop down area to add them.

  • Add a link card image and then click “Create link”

  • After you have done this, you will need to goback to the Pages -> Edit Home page area to schedule your card so you can see it.

Important Notes when using Cvent Attendee Homes page cards

  • It is recommended that you do not make the home page card containing your game link visible to attendees until the game has been tested and is ready to launch. If you launch prior to testing, attendees will be able to view the incomplete game and possibly do challenges if they are active.

  • As of the writing of this article, Cvent Attendee Hub does not have a way to change the visibility settings on cards to only certain registration types. If you can see the card your attendee hub app users can as well. If you want to restrict access to the game, add it as a page in the menu instead of the card and then edit the visibility settings to only the registration types you want to play.
