Adding links and media to your Instructions

Adding Videos, Images, and Links to your APG Instructions is easy!

The Instructions field has a feature that allows you to embed images, YouTube videos, Vimeo videos, and links. Here's how!


Adding links

To add clickable links to your Instructions, follow these steps:

  1. Click Configuration and look for the Instructions field

  2. Link next to Add Media

  3. Click the blue Add button

  4. Your Link code will appear. Select LINK LABEL and add your own label

  5. Now select LINK URL and add your link

In this example we want people to click the Visit SocialPoint link and be taken to our website, https://www.socialpoint.io/

Embedding images

To embed web-based images be sure to copy the Image URL of the image you want to add to the Instructions. Then follow these steps:

  1. When editing or adding a challenge, click Image next to Add Media on the Instructions field

  2. Click the Add button. A line of code will be added to your Description

  3. Copy the image URL and paste it into the IMAGE URL area

  4. Save your changes

The image will be visible when your players access the Instructions tab on the Player App.


Embedding videos

To embed a video into the Instructions, you'll need the video's ID (YouTube or Vimeo). To get it:

  1. Go to the video you want to add to your challenge

  2. Click the address bar once to make the cursor appear

  3. Now double-click the white space after the URL

  4. The ID will be selected. Copy it!

Now let's add it to your Game Instructions:

  1. Click Configuration and look for the Game Instructions field

  2. Select YouTube or Vimeo next to Add Media and click Add

  3. A line of code will appear. Look for VIDEO_ID and replace it with the ID you copied before

  4. Save changes and you're all set!

The video will show up whenever your players access the Instructions tab on the Player App.
