How do I copy or duplicate a SocialPoint game?

You can copy (duplicate) a SocialPoint game by clicking the blue Add button and selecting “Copy a previous game” in the Game Wizard. The process works for Trivia, Prize Wheel, and Raffle Wheel games.

For APG games, you can copy branding and structure using the Wizard, then upload challenges from your previous game. Rewards must be recreated manually.


How to Copy a Trivia Game

Follow these steps to duplicate a Trivia game:

  1. Go to Trivia Home.

  2. Click the blue Add button

  3. When the Wizard opens, check "Copy a previous game".

  4. Select a game

  5. Check "Copy questions from the selected game" if you want to use the same questions

  6. Enter a new game name.

  7. Click Create Game.

    Your new Trivia game will open with the copied settings.


How to Copy a Prize Wheel or Raffle Wheel

The copying process is the same for both Prize Wheel and Raffle Wheel.

  1. Go to Prize Manager Home.

  2. Click the blue Add button.

  3. When the Wizard opens, check “Copy a previous game.”

  4. Select the game you want to duplicate.

  5. Check “Copy prizes/names from the selected game” if you want to reuse existing prizes or name lists.

  6. Enter a new game name.

  7. Click Create Game.

Your new wheel will include the copied structure and settings.


How to Copy an APG (Attendee Participation Game)

APG games require two parts: copying the game shell and transferring challenges.

Step 1: Copy the Game Structure

  1. Start the APG Wizard.

  2. Select Copy another game.

  3. Choose the game you want to copy.

  4. Complete the Wizard to create the new game.

This automatically copies:

  • Branding

  • Theme

  • Game settings

  • Structure

Step 2: Download Challenges from the Old Game

  1. Open your original APG game.

  2. Go to the Challenges area.

  3. Click Download Challenges.

This will export your challenges to an Excel file.

Step 3: Upload Challenges into the New Game

  1. Open your new APG game.

  2. Click the blue Add button.

  3. Click Upload challenges from an Excel Spreadsheet.

  4. Select your file.

  5. Click Upload challenges.


Important: What Must Be Recreated Manually in APG

The following items do NOT transfer automatically:


Rewards

  • Rewards must be recreated.

  • Winning rules must be reconfigured.

Challenge Activities That Must Be Manually Re-entered

These activity types require manual rebuilding:

  • This or That

  • Memory

  • Categories

  • Trivia games

Activities That Can Be Copied via Excel Upload

  • Guess the Word

  • Photo Upload

  • Highlights

  • Q&A

  • Staff Scored Challenges

  • Check-In Code

  • Word Cloud

Update Links

If a challenge includes:

  • Web links

  • Photo gallery links

  • External URLs

You must manually update those links in the new game.


How to Copy a Single Challenge (APG Only)

To duplicate one challenge inside an APG game:

  1. Go to Challenges.

  2. Click the three dots menu next to the challenge.

  3. Select Copy.

  4. Enter the Internal Name.

  5. Enter the Player Facing Name.

  6. Click Save.

The challenge structure will copy, but you may need to review activity details before publishing.


What Happens After You Copy a Game?

When a game is copied:

  • The new game starts Online.

  • It is Visible in the Player App.

  • All copied settings are active immediately.

  • Players will not see data from the previous game.

  • Reports remain separate between the original and copied game.


Common Issues / Troubleshooting

My copied game is live immediately

Copied games start Online and Visible in Player App by default.

If you are not ready to launch:

  • Go to your game settings.

  • Turn the game Offline.


My APG rewards didn’t copy

Rewards do not transfer when copying or uploading challenges.

You must recreate:

  • Rewards

  • Winning rules

  • Inventory settings


Some challenge types did not transfer correctly

Activities like This or That, Memory, Categories, and Trivia games must be manually rebuilt in the new APG game.


I don’t see the “Copy a previous game” option

  • Make sure you clicked the blue Add button.

  • Confirm you are inside the correct product area (Trivia or Prize Manager).

  • Verify you have admin permissions.
